Hannah Proodian was introduced to occupational therapy as a child when her younger sister was dealing with certain deficits that made it difficult to complete daily activities that were once routine. She was intrigued by the therapeutic use of games and toys to treat pediatric patients in a way that made them feel like they weren’t in a doctor’s office.
Hannah completed an intensive training program in a school system, treating elementary and middle school-aged children with conditions such as autism, Down syndrome, attention deficit disorder (ADD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), sensory deficits, and spinal cord injuries. She also received training at a sub-acute rehabilitation inpatient center, where patients were treated after receiving hospital care for a stroke, COPD, amputation, and other conditions and medical procedures.
As an occupational therapist, Hannah provides care that enables people return to everyday activities, or occupations, to get through the day, perform work-related tasks, or simply enjoy life with greater independence.
Hannah treats various health conditions and injuries that can impede an individual’s ability to function, including but not limited to COPD, amputations, stroke, dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, spinal cord injuries, musculoskeletal injuries, autism, Down syndrome, sensory disorders, bladder/bowel incontinence, paraplegia, heart attacks, ADD/ADHD, and diabetes.
