Health literacy – having the knowledge to make smart health and lifestyle choices – is critical to feeling better, functioning better and living longer. Our efforts to improve health literacy go far beyond the four walls of our facility.
For more than 25 years, Natural Healthcare Center Founder Dr. James Proodian has been offering educational presentations throughout the tri-state area. These programs range from one-hour seminars to large-scale keynote presentations. More than 20,000 people have attended Dr. Proodian’s presentations on a wide range of topics, such as women’s health, workplace wellness, stress management, nutrition and childhood obesity.

Since 2014, Dr. Proodian has served as Health Educator for CityWell, an educational and clinical resource created to help employees of the City of Long Branch and their families lead healthier lives. Dr. Proodian also educates students, parents, teachers and administrators through the TrimKids Program, which is designed to help kids become healthier through better nutrition, physical fitness and self-esteem.
Dr. Proodian’s Blog is a valuable source of information about health and wellness. Dr. Proodian regularly contributes articles to the Asbury Park Press, shares educational information with thousands of followers on social media, and formerly hosted the “By Design” radio program. Dr. Proodian and the Natural Healthcare Center team believe education is key to improving public health, overcoming the chronic illness epidemic in our country, and reducing the cost of healthcare in terms of both dollars and human lives.
