During her undergrad years at Rowan University, Emily discovered occupational therapy while studying for her Bachelor degree in health and exercise science. She was fascinated by the occupational therapy profession because of the emphasis it places on helping individuals become independent in performing seemingly small, routine activities that make a big difference in their quality of life.
As a registered and licensed occupational therapist (OTR/L), Emily helps patients at Natural Healthcare Center overcome physical injuries and emotional barriers by creating rehabilitation protocols that are unique to each patient. Emily has experience working with individuals across the lifespan in various settings such as inpatient rehab, outpatient neuro, acute care, and community settings.
At Natural Healthcare Center, Emily frequently helps patients recover from rotator cuff disorders, joint replacement surgery, and lumbar and cervical herniations. While pursuing her graduate degree, she co-authored a systematic review researching the effectiveness of robotic therapy on function and pain in adults rehabilitating from a stroke.
