Dr. James Proodian, DC, CCSP

Dr. Proodian earned a Doctorate of Chiropractic from New York Chiropractic College and a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health from Southern Connecticut State University, where he minored in nutrition and completed the pre-medicine program. His post-graduate work includes a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP) degree from the National College of Chiropractic in 1994 and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) degree from the National Strength and Conditioning Association in 2003.

Dr. Proodian is certified in the Cox Technic system of decompression spinal pain management. Many leading medical doctors in the fields of orthopedics, interventional pain management, and neurosurgery refer patients to Dr. Proodian for nonsurgical therapy in the treatment of spinal and extremity pain.

A dynamic, sought-after public speaker, Dr. Proodian offers health education programs to help local businesses and organizations improve the health and productivity of their employees and members and reduce health insurance costs. Since 2014, Dr. Proodian has served as Health Educator for CityWell, a free educational and clinical resource created to help employees of the City of Long Branch and their families lead healthier lives. He is also a regular contributor to the Asbury Park Press and blogs frequently about timely health issues and current events. In 2008 and 2017, Dr. Proodian was recognized by NJBIZ as a Healthcare Hero for his contributions to the quality of healthcare in New Jersey.

Dr. Proodian’s greatest passion and inspiration are his wife, Stacy, and five children.

Dr. Proodian was 115 pounds soaking wet when he graduated high school. When he went to college, he also walked into a weight room and trained to become a bodybuilder, winning the Atlantic Cup Natural Bodybuilding Show in 1989.

Dr. Proodian says every day with his wife, Stacy, is as exciting as their first date. He always wanted to be in love the way he’s in love with Stacy, and the two share a deep Christian faith that they practice every day.

Dr. Proodian enjoys studying apologetics. Apologetics is the philosophical and theological discussion about the questions we all have about life – where we came from, our purpose, knowing right from wrong, and where we go after we die – from a Christian worldview.

On Saturday, March 21, 2020 New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy held a press conference in which additional measures were enacted to curtail the spread of Covid-19 and issued Executive Order 108. This Order states in part that “any health facilities that provide medically necessary or therapeutic services” can remain open. The Order further states “Nothing in this Order shall be construed to limit, prohibit or restrict in any way the provision of health care or medical services to members of the public.”

We are continuing to take all precautions to ensure that our patients and staff stay safe during this unprecedented time:

We are staggering our appointment times to promote social distancing.
All rooms and equipment will be disinfected and cleaned with medical grade disinfectant immediately before and after each patient encounter.
Our clinicians will wear gloves for your treatment upon request.

We ask that if you have any cold or flu-like symptoms, including a cough or fever, or have recently traveled to an area affected by the coronavirus, that you do not come in for your appointment but rather call us to reschedule.

If you do have a fever or other flu-like symptoms, or have possibly been in contact with someone who has been diagnosed with coronavirus, please self-quarantine and contact your primary care doctor as soon as possible.
