Timothy Sobo, LAc Acupuncturist

Timothy Sobo is a licensed acupuncturist with a master’s degree in acupuncture from the New England School of Acupuncture in Newton, Mass. He has received the honor of Diplomate of Oriental Medicine from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).

Sobo grew up on the Jersey Shore. After graduating from Toms River High School North, he attended Penn State, where he received three bachelor’s degrees. While in college, he coached and taught the Penn State Taekwondo club and team. During this time, he discovered the healing power of acupuncture, after tearing his meniscus in his right knee in three places.

Sobo strives to provide an evidence-based, comprehensive, and integrative approach to healthcare using the scientific understanding of Oriental medicine to improve the lives of people affected by disease. With his desire to provide an integrative approach to health and wellness, Sobo has taken continuing education classes at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.

Sobo also holds certification as a personal trainer and a corrective exercise specialist from the National Academy of Sports Medicine. He is currently a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Ryukyu Kempo from Dillman Karate International and a Master Instructor of Qigong from Banyan Tree Martial Arts & Qigong.
